Avante Comfort Anatomical Bridle
Our padded Avante anatomical bridle is designed based on the horse's skull conformation, to increase comfort and minimise pressure on important facial nerves, the Facial Crest bone, Temporal Muscles, TMJ, the Poll, ear muscles and upper molar teeth/inside cheek interface. It is BE, BS and BE approved and suitable for all ridden disciplines.
All our anatomical bridles are designed with the horse's comfort and fit as a priority and are unique to our brands. A comfortable horse is a more willing partner, and the right bridle fit will improve performance as well.
The Avante bridle has13 specific anatomical properties, listed below. By taking these thirteen anatomical points into account, the horse is freed from restrictions and will no longer feel unnecessary pressure or discomfort. 13 Anatomical Features of the Avante Anatomical Comfort Bridle
The special design of the headpiece removes pressure on the Nuchal Ligament, as the central padding is removed at the top. This allows the headpiece to span this vital area, instead of putting pressure on it.
The headpiece is designed to remove pressure behind the ears, by following the natural curve. This allows free ear movement and prevents irritation on the sensitive nerves, muscles and cartilage at the back of the ears.
The shaped sides of the headpiece avoid the TMJ joint, allowing the horse to relax the jaw and free the Hyoid bone. It also keeps it away from the Facial Crest, so avoiding irritation.
The Browband is shaped flat at the front, so that it follows the contours of the front of the head, preventing 'Squeeze' pressure points on the Temporal Muscles.
It is also a 'Quick-Click' design for easy on/off fitting and which also provides a flat surface against the horse's face, instead of a 'Lump'. This reduces pressure points.
The cheekpieces have buckles that are positioned away from the TMJ, reducing pressure and discomfort.
The unique shaped noseband sits higher on the face, to avoid pressure on the thin lower nasal bone.
The swept design of the noseband ensures that it avoids contact with the sensitive bones of the Facial Crest.
The noseband avoids the opening where the sensitive facial nerves exit the skull. (This is called the Infraorbital Foramen).
The noseband design keeps the upper molar edges away from the cheeks, eliminating the pressure of teeth pushing into the inner cheeks. This is achieved due to the specific positioning of the ergonomic padding, which creates a gap that spans the teeth/cheek interface. Ours is the only anatomical noseband that has this comfort feature.
The anatomical noseband shape also allows space on the face for the bit rings to operate independently. This eliminates bit interference and subsequent irritation and confusing bit signals to the mouth.
The Avante anatomical bridle can be used with or without the detachable throatlash, although the position of the throatlash, if used, totally prevents any possible windpipe or swallowing obstruction on collection. This is because it wraps around the cheeks, not the throat. as with traditional throatlashes.
By allowing the noseband to be ordered in 2 different sizes for the main body and rear chin pad strap, it is possible to place the front part in a position which completely avoids the Facial Crest and overlapping noseband and cheekpiece straps.

This bridle is available in both economy and superb Italian leather versions. Available in mix and match sizes, like our other bridles, although the cheekpieces only have a buckle option in the Economy range.
